The First Viewing in December 2018 is the first pre-selection of Friesian horses on the way to their much-coveted stud license. The programme kicks off on Thursday January 10th 2019 with the Second Viewing of the young stallions. On Friday January 11th education takes central stage offering a mixed and informative number of clinics presented in several languages that are freely available for everybody. There is a choice of informative lectures on theoretical aspects as well as clinics focusing more on the practical side with horses in the arena. The Friday afternoon also hosts the Third Viewing.
As tradition is the Saturday reserved for the Stallion Inspection of the registered Studbook stallions, with at the end of the afternoon the selection of the younger, older and overall Champion as the final highlight. The programme will be alternated with a mix of show elements.
New this year is that grandstand seating for the Stallion Inspection on Saturday will also be subject to reservation. This means that the desired seats can be reserved when purchasing the tickets. Reservation of grandstand seating for Friesian Proms was already introduced at an earlier stage. Up till this year the Saturday of the Stallion Inspection offered free choice of seating. The first people to arrive could claim the best seats. The main reason for changing this system is that free seating causes unwanted situations such as keeping large numbers of seats ‘occupied’ by leaving coats on the chairs.
Two special concerts and show evenings with a wide selection of top performers, special effects and above all beautiful horse acts.
Friesian horses, spectacular horse acts and performances of many top artists (Hessel & Tess, Mirusia Louwerse, Danny Vera) are the main theme during two special concerts and show nights.
